When Do the Oregon Women Play Again
Cramps, fatigue, and numerous bumps and bruises were felt by everyone who played for the Colorado women'south basketball squad on Midweek night.
There was more than enough elation, pride, and relief to make up for the physical soreness, withal.
The Buffaloes overcame a fourth-quarter meltdown, regrouped, and upset No. 25 Oregon, 86-83 in double overtime at CU Events Centre.
"I'1000 just really proud of our try this evening, our togetherness," CU head coach JR Payne said. "We just stuck together the entire game when things were really going not bad; we stuck together when things were non going slap-up.
"The nigh cute thing well-nigh it was it was these guys (guards Sila Finau and Jaylyn Sherrod) that held u.s. together in timeouts and huddles. There wasn't even a lot that I needed to say as far as what we need to focus on, what our priorities should exist. These guys took command of that. Great leadership. And then much middle on so many plays. … Just unbelievable heart superlative to bottom tonight."
Timely buckets and exceptional defense force in the second overtime helped the Buffs (19-7, 8-7 Pac-12) pick upwardly the signature win they've been searching for all flavor.
Sherrod had 17 points and eight assists, Finau had a career-high 15 points and Mya Hollingshed recorded some other double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds) every bit the Buffs snapped a half-dozen-game losing streak to the Ducks (18-10, 10-6) and beat a ranked opponent for the first time this season.

Despite playing without their star, Hollingshed, for the last xi minutes, the Buffs rallied.
"I remember mentioning that as shortly as it hit overtime that it was 0-0 and just to come out from the break, and do what we do," Finau said. "Just stay composed and just defend, specially because we knew how important this game was. We managed to practice that."
The Buffs improved to 5-1 in their last vi games and got their biggest win of the season while strengthening their NCAA Tournament resume.
"I think this game merely goes to show simply how talented this team is," Finau said. "U.s.a. as a squad, nosotros're just then competitive and that'due south what brought us to win this game tonight. I hope that we just keep it up."

Hollingshed recorded the 24th double-double of her career, breaking a tie with Sandy Bean (1978-82) for sixth in CU history.
